Re: Railroad Employees and railfans: Growing issue?
Good point. A while ago a well-known and well-liked railfan was ticketed for trespassing on railroad property. It was reported that at the time they were ticketed they were barely on the railroads property in a location where it would have been hard for the average person to determine where the bou...

2342 also dragged a 60ish car empty autorack train out of Gest St during the CIND beatings a couple of months ago. Three different guys have said its got the vibration problem. The one & only time I got to run the 2342 was a 65 car empty grain train at Hamler. Had to move it out of the way so we co...

Re: IORY Lima
Lima-Springfield crew made a Delta turn today with the 4082 & 4071. I didn't see what they took north, but southbound they had about 15 loaded grain hoppers (I assume soybeans from the A&B), a loaded coil car, a loaded UP covered hopper (not sure what the deal is with that), and maybe 20-30 empty pi...

Way to make a positive impression of the local railfans with the new ownership.MagnumForce wrote:There are still crossbucks laying about at each crossing, I may save one of them from rusting into oblivion along with the Cecil sign and a N&W property sign.

Nothing other than a local goes south of Alexandria, unless they still run the odd grain train (to Indian Creek, maybe?). 142, 143, and possibly 144 are now running via Alexandria & Muncie instead of turning at Claypool. Also, you forgot the "new" FWEL & ELFW - 365 and 366 (via Claypool). Marion Bra...

The 3054 & CNUR 5 worked east out of Defiance this afternoon. Made it just past Okolona before calling it a day. A few shots are on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/8-n-sand/
Also, Y101 delivered the two NS GP38ACs to the interchange in Defiance today.

Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Beginning
Eastbound brushcutter/mower (a newer Ford tractor with hy-rail wheels) was near the SR 281 crossing east of Defiance around 1:30pm today. Also, the crew was switching in Defiance with CNUR 5. Good size tie piles are next to the tracks at the yard, in Okolona, and in Napoleon.

Re: I&O Flat Rock ops??
Well, like I said...they PROBABLY would go. Something must have happened to change the plan. Pretty good chance they'll run to Flat Rock on Monday now, unless something changes. They could go Mon-Wed-Fri one week, then Tue-Thu-Sat the next, then three days in a row the week after that. No real patte...

Re: I&O Flat Rock ops??
Apparently, the crew went to Flat Rock on Thursday. Northbound engine light, back south with 20 cars. Sounds like another run to Flat Rock tomorrow (Saturday), as they will have jet fuel to take north.

According to the Pioneer_Railcorp Yahoo group, the Keokuk Junction Railway delivered a pair of GP20s and a GP16 to the TZPR interchange in East Peoria, IL, today. Another guy on the list says they only delivered a pair of GP16s. Either way, the PREX power should be en route shortly.

Re: I&O Flat Rock ops??
I would assume they will be going to Flat Rock on Friday, unless there's cars for them to take up there at Delta already (in which case they would probably go Thursday). Power currently is the 4072, facing north.
Re: IORY Lima
They ran an extra northbound today. Had the 4083 & 4032 with about 20 loads of pig iron and about 75 empty Cargill grain cars. Sounded like they were spotting the pig iron to North Star Steel then heading up to Metamora with the hoppers. Here's the train crossing the Maumee River: http://www.flickr....

Question about the signal for the diamond at Maitland in Springfield. I noticed a couple mornings last week that it was lined up with a green signal on the I&O side for the diamond.
