Re: CP Windsor Sub Operations

You'd be better off heading farther east to the east end of CP's Lobo siding. The 1st one west of London. At that point CN and CP mainlines parallel each other under a bridge. Can't remember the name of the side road that goes across the bridge to access a couple of homes on the south side but if yo...

Re: Ontario Southland question

Michael, they actually have 3 of the ex BCOL M420's and have used 644 not long after they took over operation of the CP line from Woodstock to St. Thomas. It was out of service for awhile needing repairs. One of the units is used as a parts source. Since having taking over switching the CAMI plant i...

Here's hoping at least one of them goes through Fostoria this coming weekend when I'm there.

Re: Nikon D90 Alert

But, the Olympus comes with metal flanges and will stand up to a lot more abuse.
My sons D60 also had a flange failure and that's when we noticed Nikon used plastic flanges, at least on the kit lenses.

Re: Ontario Adventures

Looks like you had a good trip into our neck of the woods. Must have been busy on the OSR or CN for a couple of CP trains I saw at Galt on my way home from work Monday. Running about an hour ahead of that 142 you caught was CP 244 with CP 8620 - CP 8706 - CP 6049 - CITX 3112 that passed me at Mile 5...

Re: Railpictures.net Challenge Part Deux

Thanks guys. It's been a great motivator to finally get some shots edited. I still haven't loaded any shots from this year onto the CPU which include my 1st trip to Rochelle and all the neat lease power running on the CP so between new stuff and all my slide collection which I have barely touched th...

Re: Railpictures.net Challenge Part Deux

Well all good things must come to an end. I had a good run but ran into a brick wall today. Screeners were not letting much on last night and early today at all. When I submitted last night there were a dozen or so in the cue including mine and not one was accepted. When I found out inthe morning I ...

50 days in a row now with 64 shots accepted so far. I'll see how long I can keep going.

Re: Railpictures.net Challenge Part Deux

I submitted a shot of a CN geep in the yard which was I thought a good bet to get in. I also tried what I though was a fringe acceptance shot, a close-up of the same unit showing a pair of chairs that someone took from the coffee shop at the station and put on top of the geep. They both made it in b...

I'm working on it. 48 shots up in 36 days so far. Last couple have been good as both shots submitted each day have made it.

Re: RPNet Reject - Suggestions

JT, to answer your question I don't have a frame just before that one other than more of a head on shot which I didn't like as much. For me it's a years old habit from my more conservative slide film days were you composed and took the shot you wanted and not take multiple of the train coming at you...

Re: Railpictures.net Challenge Part Deux

Looks like the 1st link dropped off the reject list as it had been 7 days. The 2nd one of the Triple Crown is just as good as that one from the same location. The funny thing about the high sun reject that the 1st 2 got was that the train I shot between them at the same location made it. The link th...

Re: Railpictures.net Challenge Part Deux

Although I have been getting shots in each day I thought for as long as the links stay active I would post some off my rejects. I just shake my head at and wonder with some of them. http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=909531&key=0 http://www.railpictures.net/viewreject.php?id=909741&key=25...
