The most notable change was the the GLOR has completed the mating of the former CSX Road SLUG units. They made somei interesting selection...

Re: Traverse City Southern Railroad (TCSR)
There is a little bit of additional news on the TCSR customer base. As had previously been mentioned, the GLOR / TCSR management had been working to get a new customer to use rail service on the west side of TC. This customer was going to get intermodal containers for development into offices and si...

The final part of this entire deal was just approved. The Woodville Terminal Company was approved to handle switching operations for the Martin Marietta Lime and Stone Complex in Woodville, OH. This company will be a wholy owned subsidiary of the GLOR and will be shipped a locomotive from the GLOR r...

Re: Cincinnati and Southeastern Indiana Railroad (CSIR)
There is another potential reason why the Shelbyville to Greensburg reactivation could become important for the CSIR. There have been reports (unconfirmed by Honda), that they could be expanding the Greensburg plant to produce the next generation Civic Hybrid. If this is in fact the case, the CSIR r...

Re: TSYBY 1977 in full operation
In most cases, anything built prior to 1950 does not require ditch or auxiliary warning lights. Ditch lights (or an aux light like a MARS or Gyra light) are required for anything newer than that IF, and only if, the locomotive is going to be traveling at speeds of 20 mph or more over public at-grad...

Re: Delta Terminal Railroad Company
A quick note about the GLOR / NS interchange in Delta. All of this interchange is conducted on the north side yard for the steel complex. Even though the GLOR yard on the south side was rebuilt and the GLOR does run adjacent to the NS mainline under the GLOR mainline to access the car shops property...

Re: Imlay City Northern (ICN)
The units will be shipped to the Owosso shops for repair and possible rebuilding. If the PONW doesn't want them, we have other units on the roster that they might be interested in, plus we also have the ILSX lease roster (GLOR owns 50%) that they might be able to get something from.

Re: TSYBY 1977 in full operation
I'm not familiar with the exact light situation on 1977, but it appears from reading the FRA rule regarding the lighting that it is not as simple as requiring ditch lights. In fact several different types of lights are allowable under FRA rules in addition to ditch lights. The FRA allows ditch light...

Re: Imlay City Northern (ICN)
What are the conditions of the two GP9's. One of the two GLOR owned leasing companies may be interested in acquiring additional GP9 locomotives for their lease fleet, but only if the price is right and the condition of the units meets the standards without significant overhaul.

Re: Delta Terminal Railroad Company
The GLOR / DTRC has purchased a property outside Delta for an unknown reason. This property is located to the west of the existing GLOR / DTRC yard south of the NS mainline. This property houses the former connecting track ROW between the DT&I and the Wabash line which has long since been removed. T...

Re: Traverse City Southern Railroad (TCSR)
The TCSR had a very productive winter season. The two propane terminals on the line both had productive seasons, getting multiple carload of inbound propane for storage and sale. The team track is now averaging 2-3 cars per week for various customers. GLOR / TCSR are in talks for additional property...

There has been delivery of rail along the line, which will be used to replace the existing rail. The removed stick rail is expected to be used to replace the removed tracks in the Orion Yard...

The WCHT is remaining steady. They have picked up contractual committments from both Purina Animal Nutrition and Plastilene to begin getting rail service after 4-1-2025. The WCHT has not yet dedicated power, as it has been getting power from the GLOR roster for use on the FIT. It is expected that wi...

There is another possible change for the ELSR and this one would be rather big. There is a push from at least one company to reopen rail access to the plant along the existi...
