Re: Something with East Columbus Terminal Railway

The good news is that the CCET is doing great business now and in the future in despite of some non-railfans of the CCET on this site. Now wait a cotton pickin minute, its not that nobody wanted this line to be abandoned just for the sake of being abandoned. Nobody wants to see a dying railroad lin...

Re: News about operations change for CSX in Ontario

A "more money than brain cells" move. Too far and isolated from any density of customers to make a worthwhile investment through all rural farmland. Currently, the CN 514 runs on Thursdays only, previously on Saturdays only, out of Chatham to service Charron in Chatham, the elevator in Blenheim, an...

Re: E&W to rebuild connection with former GT in Mishawaka

The map I found online seems to show what LRF has suggested. The line will extend from the current end of the tracks at Current Rd, cross Current Rd and run alongside Perry Auto, as indicated on the map LRF posted. It will then turn and head north, running alongside 331 until it reaches the CN track...

Re: Ex-Ludington Northern #16

I think he meant it hasn't been on the LUN since the early 80s. #16 has an interesting history. After the LUN ceased operations, it spent quite a bit of time leased to Michigan Interstate/Ann Arbor, TSBY, and Michigan Shore. You are correct. It hasn't been Ludington Northern #16 since the early 198...

Ex-Ludington Northern #16

Per pictures posted on Facebook, ex-LUN SW8 #16 is back in action for the Kendleville Terminal Railroad. The unit had been OOS for at least 5 years. Now if it can just get a paint job. It still has its faded LUN paint scheme, and it hasn't been there since the very early 1980's.

New GLOR customer. Previously it had been reported that Padnos was going to build a spur from the GLOR into their facility in Howell. This project had stalled until mid-summer. Re: Escanaba and Lake Superior Railway (ELSR)

The GLOR / ELSR officials got a response from CN about the cost, and as expected, CN wants substantially more than the GLOR is willing to pay for the trackage, so at this time GLOR / ELSR will not be attempting to purchase CN's lines north of Green Bay.

A CSX train was, I assume L303-24, was stopped on the main in South Lyon at the west end of the passing siding. Signal was Green for his movement it appeared, so I don't know why he would have been stopped. This was about 8:30 pm.
