"Casperson, whose family has operated a log trucking business in Escanaba for three generations, served in the state Senate from 2011 until 2018, when he was term limited out of office." Casperson tried to get an exemption for 165,000 pound logging trucks, from the "frost laws" in northern Michigan....

Re: COVID-19 Poll
This isn't going to end anytime soon. Covid has become an industry of its own. Billions of dollars involved, for tests, the people who administer the tests. The labs that check the tests. Contact tracers all over the country. Thousands of jobs. Millions of masks used and thrown away every day. Hospi...

Distributed Power
Just saw a BNSF intermodel westbound on the La Plata railcam with 300 cars. 2 locos leading, 3 in the middle and 2 more on the end. Watched it on the Ft Madison cam and again on the La Plata cam. And it was making 60 through La Plata.

Re: Did GTW Acquire PC Track in Oxford?
I worked for the GTW in Pontiac during the late 60s. I don't know what we owned in Oxford, but we ran a PO and N [Pontiac, Oxford and Northern] local that way several times a week, and they brought back a lot of gravel from the Oxford gravel pits.

Could have been torched. Seems to be evenly burning from side to side and top to bottom. I could believe anything in Washington state.

Re: Anyone on here a boat nerd?
Here's a good site for boat nerds. It's a Facebook site for the Cason J Calloway laker. The guy works on the boat as a helmsman, and answers questions and posts pictures of their trips and lake conditions.

New Railcars
Watching the La Plata railcam lately, on Monday and Tuesday this week, I saw what appeared to be a BNSF coal train, with the usual coal gons. But they all had some kind of cover on them, with what appeared to be vents in the end of the lids. Never saw this before. One in each direction. Anyone know ...
