Re: NS on JAIL in Mason this morning 09-26-15.

Hi-rails have been working in the two yards (can't remember the names), for at least a month. By Oldsmobile and the other by the old Fisher Body plant. Too far away to see what they're doing.

Re: Michigan Cabooses

Roger, I went on a Bing map ride to the camp at Evart. You can see the nine cabeese along with an Air Force bomber? The camp is south of 8 Mile Rd. and west of 95th Ave. You'll see the plane first then the cabeese are in a semi-circle. Be sure to use Bing because Google map of area is bad.

Re: Discoverys off the beaten path

In May of 2010, my daughter and her husband were looking at a house west of Holt. (South of Lansing). Out behind the house on the property, was an old passenger car or interurban car. It had apparently been moved there and made into a cabin of sorts. The kids didn't buy the house but I did get some ...

Re: CN Crane in Lansing

The crane has only been there about 15 years. The blue factory building next to it is Demmer Corp. This is their stamping plant. They used to recieve coils of steel by rail and used the crane as a yard tractor to move the coil cars in and out. What you are probably remembering being there for so lon...

Re: Lansing-North Lansing rail museum?

Back in the 80's I visited The Lansing-North Lansing Electric Railroad Museum and aquired a copy of the Sesquicentennial Guide Book Of Lansing & Ingham County From 1862 to 1987 by one of the cofounders of the museum, Henry A. Reniger Jr. Pretty neat little book with track plans, timetables, maps and...
