Re: Huron & Eastern 3868

So 3868 is sold to MEI once the 2169 comes up. And after that, i believe I may have helped it move onto its next life. Rock Island Rail is interested in the unit as it and its sisters are all originally rock island units. so keep your fingers crossed. i'm to let them know when the unit departs for M...

Re: GLC Acquiring SD35's?

Per the GLC mechanic on another board, the Dead 35's are going to begin a program to upgrade them and rebuild them. my guess, and its only that, is to Dash 3 standards like the SD35s they just got.

Re: Rails on the Road

So i saw these trucks, or a couple like them around 12Pm on I75 northbound in Bay City. they were spine like trailers and only had 1 or 2 sections of rail per trailer. I'd guess 50 to 60 foot lengths.

At least 4 AC44's have been sold to CP rail for parts. I wonder if the remains will be scrapped or sent to wabtec to be rebuilt like Cp's own AC units?

My Mother

For those of you who've known me a very long time, you all know my mom was my world. you know she came and watched trains, boats, planes and many other things with me all the time. She was part of the group of people who cooked at the first group of Durand gatherings way back when and was overall a ...

Re: CN SD60F Status?

well, it looks as if 15 of the former CN SD60F units will be saved. The following is from the new loconotes group page and at least one of these units has been spotted in transit with ACWR reporting marks, as I questioned as to weather or not they were simply going into storage for someone. ACWR is ...

Re: Propsed Steel manufacturing in/near Durand

we have the room along the Saginaw river. Ships can bring in the iron ore, drop it here. i'm sure HESR wouldn't mind the haul from Bay City to Durand of the iron trains. Just a random thought.
