Re: MMRR industries/HESR new connection in Alma
The only traffic in St. Louis is inbound lumber for Bear Truss and I assume inbound fertilizer components for whoever runs the fertilizer plant on the shared property with Bear Truss.

8:24pm HESR westbound from Bad Axe with three scrap gons for Tower/Autokiniton in Elkton. There were three loaded scrap gons waiting for them. My son and I captured the video at Grassmere Road.

Pigeon CO-OP
I had to make a quick trip to Pigeon today and the colored bean plant seems busy. There were 13 boxcars on the the old PO&N main just south of Berne. There were 6 cars on the load out spur at the colored bean plant. Three were covered hoppers and the other three were boxcars. They were connected to ...

Re: Proof of railroad life in Kinde!
AARR, I couldn't see what they were using, but most of the CO-OP facilities up here use John Deere tractors to move cars around.

Proof of railroad life in Kinde!
We celebrated Fathers Day a little early by heading to Kinde for lunch. I was suprised to see 30+- covered hoppers at the CO-OP being loaded on a Sunday afternoon.

Re: Tower Automotive
AARR is correct. Tower in Elkton still ships scrap in MWCX hoppers. There are usually 6-10 cars on the siding on the north side of M-142, across from the plant. I believe they can fit two cars inside the building for loading.

Re: Where Is It?
Now private property, a group of us got to tour this area several years ago on a PO&N railroad history road rally from Clifford to Caseville. It is used as an overflow campground by the Huron County Parks Department during the Cheeseburger in Caseville Festival. I can't believe you deleted Lefty's D...

Re: Huron and Eastern Customer List
We were in Kinde last night and there were 3 covered hoppers at the elevator, and a tank car at the fertilizer plant, so I would say that they are still active.

Re: Where Is It?
That is Bear Truss in St. Louis. I took the picture from the intersection of Saginaw and Hubbard Streets in February of 2012. The Bear Truss website offers no information regarding fertilizer production but this was a Royster facility at one time. A&E Ag LLC was acquired by Timac Agro and is still l...

Re: Michigan Short Line Updates - February 2019
Some MMRR sightings/changes were made today. We took a little trip to visit family in St. Louis, and saw some changes at the MAC facility east of Breckenridge. The large green tanks at the fertilizer plant have had the Crop Production Services logos painted over and they now bare the Nutrien Ag Solu...

Re: Grain Train derailment
We had the family on the NPE tonight. Everything was handled amazingly by SRI, emergency personnel, and bus drivers. It led to a long night, but we had a great experience, and a great story to tell. I feel bad for those scheduled to ride the Sunday morning train. It was rescheduled to 5 pm next Sund...

Re: Northern Michigan Railroad Club Dundee Cement Club Car
I ordered one a few weeks ago. Then I received my December issue of O Gauge Railroading and saw the product announcement. I don't think these will last long. All of their previous club cars have sold out. I am glad the wife agreed that it would make a good Christmas gift. She didn't have to do anyth...

Re: Midland Railfanning
The most rail action I have ever seen at Dow was from the first base concourse of Dow Diamond before a Great Lakes Loons game. My daughter was at the play structure and I watched them do some switching in the northwest corner of the plant. I should have climbed the play structure for a better view. :D
