Re: Traverse City to Ann Arbor Train
If you've ever attempted to ride Indian Trails bus to any point north of Lansing its a major issue for so many reasons. Not everyone drives and most on here against passenger rail up to Traverse City tend to forget about the ones who NEED this service. There is the college up in Mount Pleasant for e...

It looked fine to me but thanks for letting me know. Like I said, I never attempted to record anything before.

Re: NKP 765 on the AA
I had an opportunity to catch the 765 yesterday over in Owosso, since nobody has uploaded anything here as of yet I figured I should contribute something. This is my first video of a train I've ever captured and I don't think it turned out too bad since I only had my cell phone with me so here it is...

Looks interesting but that price can get me a one way ticket from Durand-San Antonio on Amtrak. I'm all for that warmer weather so maybe next time around.

Re: Calumet Township plans to renovate train depot
Looks like quite a large depot. Anyone on here have any good pics of this place when it was in better shape? Hope things work out in their favor so they can preserve & reuse this building. Love it up that way but never get up there as much as I'd like to.

Re: Lake State Railway at East Tawas, MI
I donated to the Clinton Northern Railway (Saint Johns Depot) and the thank you letter they sent back to me said my donation was being used to replace the colored green glass in that car they refurbished shown in this post. They have quite a few neat pictures of the move of this old coach to Saint J...

Re: Sappi's Power Plant Coming Down Sunday
Too bad I have to work! Friend of mine lives less than a block from it with a perfect view from her house. Sad to see such a large plant go down but it will definitely open up a nice view of the lake. Anyone know if they are hauling out any of the debris by rail? I would ask my friend but she probab...

New crossing signals in Durand
They've finally upgraded the railroad crossing signals at the Monroe and Durand Rd crossings in Durand near the Fifth/Third Bank. These two crossings now have shiny new signals with gates, looking good! Any word if Lansing road will also be receiving new signals with gates?

Re: Ann Arbor light rails?
Long ago we had these systems already in place in most all decent size cities, maybe they should have left all those trolly & Interurban lines in place. Its a never ending story with our rail systems, they go through and rip out a bunch of track with future potential losing it to other development o...

Re: Myrtle Beach (End of the line)
Between the depot and the bridge there are a handful of potential customers including a scrap yard but not sure if they would be worth fixing whatever issues the bridge has. Noticed a large chunk of land for sale which may have been the location of the power plant mentioned. We traveled along the li...

Re: Myrtle Beach (End of the line)
I figured I'd get a few shots of the place while the tracks are still in place, obviously hasn't been a train down this stretch in quite some time. Would make a great line for a tourist or commuter train into town, alleviate a little bit of the tourist traffic on the roads coming into/out of town du...

Speaking of the Huckleberry Railroad, just came across a few pictures and a very short video they posted on their Facebook page of a bridge replacement. Kinda neat to see.
