Re: Woman slams pickup into moving train

Few years ago a drunk lady tried to use the CN line in Morrice as a street between Main and Morrice rd crossings only to get hung up on the siding switch that goes or did go into the grain elevator. The noise woke my parents up since the switch is directly behind their house. My dad called the polic...

I hope one of the conductors slipped him a beer from the train to go with that pizza after going through that. :)

Re: Is Durand Union Station haunted?

I myself questioned the whole ghost/haunting thing for years until I caught "something" in a pic I took while visiting the home of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Mansfield Missouri back in April. I sent it into a website that eventually posted the shot on their website so who knows. http://angelsghosts.com...

Ovid Michigan

Exactly what year were the tracks through Ovid MI removed? There is a nice size scrap yard on the edge of town that used to ship by rail from what I was told and could use it now by the looks of things since they have enough scrap piles to justify shipping out by rail if it were an option.

Re: Lansing's Old Town railroad spur to be reactivated

Is that little brown addition shown on the very right in the last picture of the old North Lansing Depot the same structure that is still standing in that location? Thought I remember seeing a building that size there last time I was in the area, just different color.

Lots of action on a Saturday here in Corpus Christi Texas, was not able to find much worth taking a picture of but did manage to get a couple. http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10454/thumb_oops.jpg http://railroadfan.com/gallery/albums/userpics/10454/thumb_Corpus_Christi_Terminal_R_R_.j...

That would have been neat if they could have gotten their idea up off the ground. There was many times I walked from downtown Lansing to the North side, this would have been perfect.

Morrice

When CN replaced a broken rail in Morrice which happened to be where the switch is for the only remaining siding left in town, they never replaced the actual switch. The switch is still there, just no longer connected to the main line. Wonder if they are waiting to replace it when spring comes? The ...

Wow, glad no accident occurred and good job to the ones who were on duty that day actually paying attention and prevented it. Reading the report I had to laugh a little about the "JAIL" officer thing though.

Re: E&LS Ontonagon Branch

Couldn't they just purchase this branch and leave it in place like what was done with the line between Middleton and Carson City? It would be there for future use if needed and would make an excellent line to run those speeders down like they do on the Carson City branch. Speeder clubs would love th...

Re: Flat cars on NYC Owosso

The tracks still went quite a ways back into the woods past the spur off into the building, noticed there seemed to be another siding off the former main line just past the switch for the fertilizer place. If you do the "Satellite View" on Google Maps and zoom in, it shows those coal cars they had s...
