Where is everyone?? Not a single soul at Carland or Bannister tonight per a report in the field
Staying home! Few will bother to sit in the cold waiting when the 1225 isn't there.

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

It's too bad the village of Elberta kicked the City of Milwaukee out. At least she found a willing home in Manistee.

Maybe once Ford has built out the park or whatever it's doing behind the MC Depot, the train can stop there. CPKC owns the line as far as 24th St.

Re: CN Lake Orion Sub - The end finally???

Apparently no train service until mid-2026. Or the next delay(s) after that. Detroit News 7/23/24: "General Motors Co. is again delaying the launch of electric truck production at its Orion Assembly plant, this time by six months to mid-2026, CEO Mary Barra told investors". Detroit-Hamtramck electri...

Re: Pere Marquette Canadian Division Question

C&O reinstated its Port Huron ferry service on 12/14/53 after having ended it in 1933. It had sent traffic through the GT tunnel during the 20 year gap. CSX continued running the ferry until 10/7/94. Lots of standard height cars used the ferry right until the end. Before the expanded Detroit tunnel ...

Have a linky for those without facebook accounts, and better yet, people that aren't a member of the private 174 member group? The following is on page 11 of this FRA PDF, published yesterday. Don't see how the amount comes close to rebuilding 5 miles though. Maybe E&W will actually get NS rights t...

With the addition of this additional train traffic, it makes one wonder if CSX shouldnt have pulled out that three mile long siding between Atwood Wye and Longwood Blvd on their former flint sub.
That was a main track south of Longway Blvd., not a siding.

That bridge has had a 10? MPH slow order for years. Steve B, could you please tell me or leave a link on how to get on MDOTs website so I can read up on the Manistee River Railroad Bridge. Thank you Steve B.
I don't know, aside from just Googling some terms you could go to MDOT's main website and go through the categories.
