Re: CN to run donation special down the Holly Sub

Unfortunately event has been canceled due to the weather concern (extreme cold/wind chill). We all thank you for all the willingness to support the cause and you can still donate at the Bristol Yard office in Flint.

Re: CN/Whaley Center Benefit Express heads up 1/20/24

What we don’t know: What’s the rest of the consist looking like, they’re not just going to be running a couple of engines and a caboose. Yes we are going to only run 1 or 2 units and the cab for several reasons. I have to protect the normal jobs running this day and we are already power short. Othe...

Re: CN Train Location Updates 04/14/13 - 04/20/13

First the train is E28091 14...the train was destined for Flint since it left Seattle, WA days ago on the UP..the power never changed the whole route. All the cars were billed for the Flint Assembly when it left and still are. Just because they use the E280, E260, E276 symbols doesnt mean its going ...

Re: CSX K187?

Hey Matt where are your notes?? ;) I'm sorry it was 4.5 years ago...main reason was for spacing at the docks and not tying up the main coming into Stanley.

Re: CSX K187?

Actually K185 used to run through Walbridge on a daily basis and it was scheduled this way.....this was about 4 years ago or so when there was alot going on on the Toledo Sub. One reason it would run this way was because of congestion daily on the TT north of WR. So I hate to admit but James is half...

Re: In Your Honest Opinion

Before you start calling people out MDH for something that was done, check the facts. Several people on this board know of the picture I am talking about and will be the first to say it was photoshopped. If it is possible to scan the image I will and show "everyone" so people can stop covering up st...

Re: In Your Honest Opinion

First lets be honest Z...a camera is a "mirror image" producer and is used to get the best photo based on the settings and so forth. I use full manual on my XTI to get the best represenative picture of the exact scene. This stands true with a digital camera, a 35 mm slide, disk, etc. You are overloo...

Re: In Your Honest Opinion

Agree with Typhoon...yes I have done "darkroom" jazz and its not even close to digital editing...thats like comparing apples to oranges. Take 35 mm slides and or prints or even Polaroid...lets see you edit out a tree or telephone pole or change the color to make it look like its day when its really ...

Re: In Your Honest Opinion

Or you could just be a "real" photographer and not a "digital editor" and accept the pictures for what they are and just work on your ISO/F stop and apperture when you are in the field as you go. I agree with Matt they are your best work so far and you have learned alot and I would be very happy wit...

Re: Q195/Q196 Going To Ohio

Typhoon I received a few "notes" from decent sources that yes there was the trackwork and so forth but there was actually a pilot available and they have working on trying to make the traffic more efficient and preparing for the upcoming North Baltimore short haul trains....I guess its who you belie...

Re: Q195/Q196 Going To Ohio

Crew changes and coverage of crews isnt an issue...traffic is a so so issue especially around Chicago and coming in and out of 59th Street and on the NS as CSX trains hold at Porter quite often now. Paragraph I know what "system" you are using to calculate running times but technically that is not a...

Q195/Q196 Going To Ohio

FYI Because of the "delays" runnning via GR Q196-28 is running via Garrett today and will be routed north at Fostoria and then to Walbridge and up the Lincoln Secondary. CSX realizes there will be delays on all trains but there was some major delays in the first few trains run each way. Some ran on ...

Re: CSX N. Baltimore Hub "Taking Shape"

COFC facility only but a Container on a chasis is considered a TOFC in "normal" lingo but CSX uses TOFC and COFC as two different breakdowns. Look at Conrail and the TV trains or UP with their K, Z, and I trains. All have different breakdowns but they really all are broken into two different types.....

Re: CSX (MI) Train Location Update 10/18/10

Q195-18 was called at 1000 and this was due to a few reasons...gate cut off is at 0800 and when you limit your trains to 7000 feet but run the first one at 7996 feet...well you get the picture...its going to be a decent sized train with 31 L-11 E but about 4150 tons....same power as yesterdays Q196 ...
