Re: Consumers/DTE to be off coal by 2040

What will happen if the way is found to make coal clean burning? That is what I am wondering. Technology advances daily and it will soon come to pass that with the ability to make the smokestacks of coal fired power plants basically pollutant free don't discount it just yet. Wind and solar are much...

Makes sense to me Don but it seems to be overkill for an ethanol plant of that size.

I have friends in MOW and know some signal maintainers. Should my avatar be a spike or a target signal?

Re: Lake Michigan Shipping

My take: The Great Lakes Basin Railroad stands a better chance of coming to fruition than does the idea of ferrying cars across Lake Michigan. At least it will bypass the Chicago congestion. Given our location in the usual cross country traffic patterns of railroading we are an outlier. We ship our ...

Shipping rates for coal are much cheaper on boats than rail. Several years a go a article was written in a railroad publication how coal was loaded at Toledo on boats for rail served generating plants in Michigan. This still takes place today. So don't disregard the idea this coal won't go to Sandu...
