Re: PRR Carrothers Secondary

As I understand it the PRR would of had to of crossed the Maumee River at some point. I believe the tracks ran parallel to the river on its East side before crossing over somewhere near downtown, but does anyone have a specific location for the former bridge? If so, does anyone have a date? 1970s ha...

Locations of PRR Pedestal Signals

Inspired by the demise of signaling's greatest generation, I have grown increasingly interested in shooting PRR's vast array of signal infrastructure. In particular, I was curious if anyone had any information on the locations of active PRR Pedestal signals (small PRR signals that act as regular PLs...

Re: CSX between Columbus and Kentucky Questions

Not sure exactly how busy it is, but I don't believe there is any auto or intermodal service anymore. Q135 and Q136 used to run this way, but now run to Portsmouth via the B&O. Can't imagine it being any busier than 10 or 15 a day as it appears to be mostly coal/ grain traffic and the Q308 turn

Re: Deshler Northwest Wye Removal?

According to someone who lives there, they ran a container train (south to west) via the NW wye earlier today (4/23). That would have been first move using the wye since a baretable train back in January. I don't see the turnout being removed, even with the lack of use. Would the additional work (s...

Re: Deshler Northwest Wye Removal?

Now you have q200 and q203 using the northwest transfer daily. I believe Q200 was diverted to the Toledo Sub only temporarily for a C&O curfew (signal cutovers that took place at the end of October). I think it still runs the Toledo Sub on occasion when crew availability (or lack thereof) necessita...

Re: NS Peavine talk

I'm new to this thread, and have read through much of the discussion, however there are several questions I still have over some unclear/debated information. Exactly how far East does the Cincinnati Eastern run? I have heard '68 miles' which would put it just west of Rareden. Is this as far as the l...

NS PSR changes?

(Feel free to delete and direct if there is already a thread regarding this) As announced at the quarterly meeting in October, NS will be adopting PSR beginning in February according to company President and CEO Jim Squires. In the the articles I read, Squires took a fairly ambiguous approach to que...

I believe it was torn down towards the end of Summer. I recall hearing about it soon after I shot it on July 5th, so by late July/Early August it should have been demolished

PRR signals on the CFE?

Inspired by a trip on NS's side of the Fort Wayne line, I have made future plans to shoot as many PRR signals as I can before they fall under pressure from NS's infrastructure upgrades. Unfortunately, due in large part to an inordinate focus on my job and school, as well as large amounts of time spe...

Re: CSX from Grand Rapids to Benton Harbor

That would be the Grand Rapids Sub. And aside from the trains you mentioned, there are virtually no extras. Coal trains are as needed, but you can typically see at least 1 loaded train and 1 empty train on any given day. D700 runs Tuesday through Saturday, often times they'll turn at Holland on Wed...
