Just google Hooker Chemical Montague. That alone should keep you busy for awhile. Dangerous place, very creepy to go into and switch. Did it a few times. Didn't enjoy it.
Would love to hear a story or two. :)

Re: Plymouth Sub Grand Rapids and other lines

I know the Grand Elk is on the NS lines going North and South to Kalamazoo and wanted to know what are some good times to get action on this line as well considering I live near that line. It would be only a 5 minute drive to the crossings on 36th and what not. Since you'll be living so close to th...

19:00 hrs, CSX units are in the siding at Hudsonville putting together the empty well cars and preparing to take them to Wyoming. Perhaps tomorrow will be a unit table train as well.
Finally on the move. D801 clear east end Hudsonville at 8:30pm.

Westbound train out of GR. Should be in Jenison right now. Quick glimpse of the cars from EB 196, looked like it could have been the rail train.

Re: J H Campbell coal plant Port Sheldon

Has anyone seen photos of the cow/calf switcher set at this location. Google satellite photo of plant shows a set on the loop track inside the facility. I didn't know the power company had there own switcher? I have photos of them. I also have a photo of the yellow center cab unit. I've never manag...

Re: CSX Train Location Updates: June, 2020.

Checked thru my notes & prior posts: on April 13, 2020 D801-13 had stored the empty coal cars into Gross Siding. On May 22, 2020 a little after midnight a new crew E800-20 took those empty cars out of Gross & on to Chicago. Interesting. A few years ago empty coal cars were stored on the Hartford li...

Q327 had mechanical issues and was stopped for awhile, blocking 18 crossings. Supposedly, they had to break their train up to allow traffic to pass. https://wwmt.com/news/local/train-blocks-18-railroad-crossings-in-holland?fbclid=IwAR0BVh2FuLLV73DujLsJtihSmgQfXgwoZQ84ujVfiUhkhhAxjv3epCxePWw Q326-02...

Just turned the scanner on in time hear the crew of 327 talking in Holland. Sound like the train is stopped and they are going to need to cut a crossing. Police officer is chatting with the engineer, who is going to go back and get the conductor at the crossing near Baker Furniture (24th St).
