Re: CSX Train Location Updates - January 2021

At 9am there was an empty coal train parked at West Olive just short of the 152nd Ave crossing, sans crew. I suppose at some point this morning it will be departing. BNSF units 6237 & 8424.

Wow, my wife just got held up for 45 minutes by I assume 327 in Holland. She missed a Doctor's appointment-she's pissed!
After about 10 min of the train being stopped, I would have turned around and gone another way.

Good morning, Donnie. I hope you had a nice Christmas. Can you let us know if 327 is working Waverly this morning? I’m not able to listen to the scanner at the moment. Thanks! Just heard @ 07:50am Q327-26 will be rolling non-stop. Thanks, Tom. Now I don’t need to hurry to get out of the house. 😀

After reading Tim's comment, it probably avoided having to back trains in and out of the yard, It looks like the Air Line main hit the MC pretty close to downtown.
That makes sense.

Was there originally a diamond that went across the CSX main to that other track that veers off to the west? It seems like the perfect track arrangement for the east to west line to just go straight across.
The 196 overpass on the south side of South Haven is where part of this old ROW is.

Just for info, back by the silos is where the Jackson to Niles line crossed. Just east of Three Rivers was where they diverted to Elkhart later. So where did this branch go off to on the northeast side of Niles? Looks like it may have crossed the existing line, but I see no evidence of a ROW beyond...

Thanks for the info. I wondered what that ROW was as we drove into town from the west.
