Re: Deshler Northwest Wye Removal?

508 and 509 run via Fostoria with a crew change at North Baltimore. Simply a way to take work away from Walbridge.

Re: Anyone From Coopersville and Marne on Here?

Well, I appreciate the PM that I did get, unfortunately I am still in RRFoam jail and am unable to respond to it. That's how progress is made now apparently. I did get the right contact to help them out though. Thanks anyway.

Re: French Lick Trains

Tourist RR, French Lick and West Baden. Not sure on schedule. I think there is a limited amount of freight on the very south end, but the French Lick end is tourist only. Small museum set up. Also a trolley that runs between resorts that is free. Trolley tracker here: http://app.tsomobile.com/public...

Re: S. Carolina Amtrak-CSX Accident

If the crew notified the dispatcher that they had left the switch reversed, then the dispatcher is responsible for not notifying the Amtrak crew (I doubt this is the case, but it's plausible, if the freight crew ran afoul of the H.O.S. Law) when they were given the EC-1. Most likely, I believe, tha...

Re: S. Carolina Amtrak-CSX Accident

One report has the CSX dispatchers talking the crew through the signal suspension by phone.... Since this is how they were receiving orders no chance for the second crewmember to hear the conversation.... but wait their is no tape or is there with phone traffic? Phones are an acceptable alternative...

Re: S. Carolina Amtrak-CSX Accident

The CSX train was Q211-01 (Louisville, KY-Cayce, SC), and was unloading at the time of the incident. Q211 was tied down and unoccupied in a non-controlled, non-signaled siding, not "unloading". What does a square yellow sign with a diagonal red line mean? Warning Sign. Placed approximately 2 miles ...

Yard job on every shift effective today. Yardmasters put back on. Cranes never stopped running, road crews had been doing all the shuffling in the terminal.

Re: Amtrak 501 derails 12/18/2017

I wonder how far back from the curve PTC would realize that 80 isnt 30 and act accordingly? PTC continuously assesses your speed and distance to restrictions, and gives visual and audible warnings if you are operating outside the parameter of where it thinks you need to be. It provides a timer show...

Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Definitive Thread

I’m sure this has been said before, but why not ship directly to Campbell’s via rail again? The bridge is there. I realize the facility sits on top of the old ROW, but could it be reconfigured? When GTW removed the line from Malinta, the bridge was deeded to the City of Napoleon under the condition...
