Re: NS Peavine talk

First of all Brian and others have video of the CCET and other railroads on Facebook as well it's not all about You Tube. I have seen railfans post video on the I&O, NS, CSX on You Tube as well. So not sure why some of you guys are so down on Brian and the CCET. I thought this site was to support r...

Ah, interesting stuff, didn't know it was still considered OOS. Thanks for the update.

Re: IORY and CF&E northwest quadrant connection in Lima

The northwest connection at Sugar Street is indeed in service. It sees CF&E's interchange run to I&O's Ford Park Yard multiple times a week (typically in the mid afternoon but that's not set in stone), along with grain trains to the ethanol plant on the I&O south of Lima. The original southeast conn...

Fine I should've said I don't know my ass from a hole in the ground. because I have no idea what the north end of the KNWA has planned. As as far as those other little things going I put them somewhere else. You are such a baby. That's ok, your name calling doesn't really matter to me anymore. beca...

Re: IORY Updates

Thank you for the updates. Anyone know the answer to this question? Does IORY still haul aviation fuel from Lima to Flat Rock? I do not know, at least as of recently. I remember it happening last summer though. Waddy and Geddy, Is the Transload there by I&0 yard office still called Luckey Trucking?...

Re: IORY Updates

Well, for starts: Traffic is up in on the north end. Lima North Local goes north from Ford Park Yard in Lima around 10-11pm to Delta, then turns back south and gets back to Lima around 6-8am the next morning. Pig iron to Northstar in Delta has been consistent as usual, but a new feature as of late h...

PM isn't a viable alternative to the B&O. Alternative, yes. Viable alternative, no. I don't know why people keep playing the 'viable alternative route' card, when CSX has downgraded basically ALL of their other 'viable alternative' routes. Illinois Sub? Mothballed. Indiana Sub west of Seymour? Loca...

Re: Man hit by train in Rochelle dies.

And since the QZ went in, I'd be surprised if property values in parts of the city didn't go up. Without that infernal racket to keep people up all night/day, it's now possible to sleep through the night all across town. Besides, most of us have two eyes in addition to our ears, to detect train mov...

Re: NS West Virginia Secondary-Columbus Oh to Alloy WV

Junk old GP35s I assume, 3901, 3902 and 3921. Looks like 2 of them got the Kanawha lettering and logo. SD45s look to be ex SP as they all look like they had the standard SP nose light package at some point 4211, 4212, 4213. The 4200s are indeed ex SP. Are they still true SD45s or have the been put ...

Re: Ottawa question

Are the railroad tracks which pass over US 224 on the east side of Ottawa ever used? This would be the rail line that served the old Phillips plant. Thanks! That would be the former Detroit Toledo & Ironton line around Ottawa, now known as the Ottawa Industrial Loop. It is currently used by the Ind...

Re: NS to idle Ashtabula coal docks

This is slightly off-topic, but I don't understand NS's routing anymore. They are literally CRAMMING everything into that Bellevue/Sandusky area. Maybe I just can't see the big picture in all of this but I can't help but wonder if half of the on-time-performance problems weren't just due to that. O...

PREX 107 is an NW5??? or NW2? If it's a 5, i would hope it's not going to scrap as only 13 were made and maybe 3 or so exist.... It's an NW2, my apologies. It is, however, from one of the earliest orders of NW2s, built in March 1939. Rebuilt by Burlington Northern in April 1975 as an NW2R, respecti...

Diamond has been put back in place in the last week. There was a locomotive and 4 gons in LC over the weekend. Were they tie gondolas? I would guess the track needs some more work before any traffic resumes. Hearing the diamond is back in place makes me wonder if they turned the old DT&I/WAB signal...

Lame... a half hearted attempt. These are barely heritage units. They're not supposed to be heritage units, they're just putting the logos on equipment to be able to keep the copyrights. Originally I just thought it was shop crew humor, but this makes more sense. How long would the copyrights be ex...

Probably just attempted humor by the crews. I've seen several CSX units with Chessie System decals on them either on the nose or carbody. Highly doubt it's even an attempt at a heritage unit....
