I was wondering what would be a good next step up from the 55-250mm. when I do wild life shots sometimes the animals or objects are just to far away to get a good close crisp pict...

Re: There was a fire at Lafarge Alpena,MI
My speculation are correct again about taking stone from the Primary crusher crushing the stone bypassing the secondary crusher feeding the one stock pile for the lower level. Ok there still hauling stone from Lafarge in Presque isle to feed the Stock pile that comes from the upper level too and hau...

Re: There was a fire at Lafarge Alpena,MI
Its possible they could buy some they would build a road from one quarry to the other. The D&M and early LSRC used to shuttle stone on the Hillman branch to the main line from Paxton quarry to Cement plant before they closed the quarry and ripped up the tracks They abandon the tracks in 98 and i thi...

Re: There was a fire at Lafarge Alpena,MI
Well they do have those massive rock trucks...I'm sure they can bring rock up from down in the quarry that way of need be... That raw rock is to big it first goes threw the primary crusher where you see the haul trucks dump stone in it get's put in the first pile in the pit than it's goes in the se...

Re: There was a fire at Lafarge Alpena,MI

Re: There was a fire at Lafarge Alpena,MI
Not sure how many days the stock piles will last or affect production. There's two piles. One pile its the upper level the other pile is the lower level. They switch levels every other day the reason they keep the piles separate because the quality of the limestone is different. Then they feed the b...
