Re: Train Joke

I did it as a Scout skit many, many moons ago. No plaigerizing on your part, but all jokes based on puns have a bad habit of being thought up a week before by someone else.

Best write-up of it I've ever seen though.

Re: C&O Historical Society Archives help

If you want the ho-rez photo, you have to buy it. Sounds mean, but the print quality is far beyond excellent - you won't be disappointed. Been dealing with them for 30 years.

Re: Trestle Remnants off 131 in Boyne Falls

I have a newspaper clipping, actually a whole-page Sunday article, from the Grand Rapids Press, about the Boyne Valley and its fabulous wooden passenger cars, I'll scan & post it when I figure out where the old stack is,

Re: Amtrak ticket agents

There's a flower and garden shop near Grand Rapids (MI) that only takes credit cards. Maybe debit cards. Of which I have neither, so I can't shop there. There hasn't been any real outrage about it, and no lawsuits. So, it's (illegal) business as usual. I'd get a prepaid debit card, like what Wal-Mar...

We need a railroad-themed movie that tells kids they'll die if they spray-paint freight cars.

Re: New industry connection at CP Godfrey?

Had a Dr appointment so I walked the Interurban trail on the way home. Spur's connected to Old 17; it has a tail track long enough for probably a trackmobile and one or two cars. At Chestnut, concrete is being laid for a wide driveway-type entrance. It's big. The lot's been cleared out, but there ar...

Re: Where Is It?

I'm probably being more picky than necessary, but the ROW was for the City trolley line, and not any Interurban. Check out Carl Bajema's book, which is available at most KDL branches.

Re: SRI Adds Pacific Parlour cars to Fleet

Saw the whole fleet in a row at Beech Grove Sunday. A little ratty looking, but nothing a little clean-up & relettering can't fix.

It's not often you can see an entire fleet all at once.

Re: Student Killed in Truck-Bus Accident near Argos

Teacher friend of mine was driving the other bus. He found out when a bus from another district dropped of the kids who didn't need to go to the hospital.

Said it was his worst day of teaching ever, and he's been at it for 40+ years.
