Meyer's Junction
Anyone know where "Meyer's Junction" was located? It was either on the PM or the DUR? I'm finding references to it in records for the delivery of kit homes from the Aladdin company of Bay City.

Re: Working on the MAL
A crew was out removing the signals at the M-5 crossing yesterday. They started with the overhead signals and by mid-afternoon, had most of the crossing signals down. I read somewhere that the tracks are going to be removed and the crossing paved over at some point soon.

Train vs. SUV on CSX in Wixom
I couldn't find anything online but Fox2 in Detroit this evening was showing a CSX unit that had struck a SUV abandoned at the Beck Road crossing in Wixom. The driver had gotten the SUV stuck on the tracks but had the sense to get out of the vehicle was struck.

Who said anyone was fighting anything? Just asking questions that should be asked.

Re: A section of the Old Road is being taken up
Here's an article. http://www.sturgisjournal.com/article/20130704/NEWS/130709791/1001/NEWS According to this, by state law, the railroad is first supposed to offer the railroad to MDOT or the DNR. Does anyone know if that happened? "A railroad may end its obligation to provide freight service over a...

Re: A section of the Old Road is being taken up
From the photos on the other site, the track looked to be in pretty poor shape. INER hasn't been afraid to invest in their infrastructure but how much traffic would it have taken to justify that kind of investment? Plus, unless INER could have gotten into Sturgis, the only traffic on this line would...

Re: A section of the Old Road is being taken up
Never like seeing old rails going away but without service into Sturgis, there didn't seem to be any justification for INER to keep this in place.

Re: Napoleon, Defiance and Western: The Beginning
Took US-24 west to Indy this weekend and a rail line ran adjacent to the freeway west of Defiance. Am I correct in assuming this is the ND&W? The line looked horribly maintained so by past descriptions, it's a match! Somewhere along that stretch there was an old switcher and caboose tied down on the...

Most of the plant is down. I saw 4 hoppers loaded with scrap on the south end of the property when I passed by on 96 on Saturday.

Bay City rail lines
I'm doing some research on the companies in Bay City that made kit homes. For those familiar with kit homes, they were generally shipped out by rail. Does anyone know which lines handled the traffic from Aladdin, Lewis and Sterling?

"Informed directly that CSX will place a new signal bungalow at Beck rd. to handle the signals from there to Trowbridge in order to expedite the return to service of that segment, hoping to finish this in a few days. " When I crossed the Beck Road crossing early this afternoon, there was several CSX...

Following that logic, there should no restrictions on any kind of dumping of any kind of waste in Lake Michigan. No single source of pollution is ever going to look significant compared against the the volume of water in the Lake.

Maybe it's all a plan to get all the foamers in one place so ADBF can identify them.

Re: Private passenger cars in Ann Arbor
I think dark green. We just happened to detour down Depot Street so I wasn't expecting to see anything and we had to get to an appt. in town. Otherwise, I would have looped back to get some photos.
