It needs to read "train to truck transfer" if it is to go to the Soo, since I crossec the Big Mac last week and saw no rail across the Straits.

The bridge is north of Manton and west of U.S.-131 a mile or so north of the end of 131 freeway. Last I know there was a access road to the south end of the bridge.

Howell YM, I did ride the GLC once eons ago during the Melon Festival to Whitmore Lake and return, I believe.

Michigan caretakers are paid.They bid on it thru MDOT, I presume. For several years I filled in for the caretaker in GRR, part-time,mostly nights and weekends.I always assisting passengers and helping train crews,by manning doors and helping with luggage.

As far as I know all is in place. A nice siding with switches at both ends and adjacent to the "yard" where the cars for Petoskey Plastics are stages.

The C&O dock was in an area known as Jones Island on the left side of the river on the left (I do not re call the name). The GTW dock was further up the river.
You did not mention Menominee. The AA dock was just inside the breakwall.

Cn has section crews and equipment in Gladstone. Apparently there are several crews as there are ,many maintenance trucks on the road to and from Gladstone.

The Gaylord train runs approximately once per week. There is no set weekday or time. They can be here at 8:30a or 4:00p or any time in between.

You wouldn't ship iron ore between Marquette and Duluth. Both cities ship iron ore out, mostly by ship.

It was located on U.S.2 west at Deer Ranch,which is still there and usually busy. The building is different now and is a souvenir store and fenced in deer area for viewing. I have not been there since I rode the train, back in the early 70's. I seem to remember the deer area there viewed from the tr...
