Re: Recovering lost videos

First, I know it’s too late now, but if you ever experience a camera malfunction or get it wet, first thing to do is remove the SD card, and dry it separately, and transfer any data before risking it in the potentially malfunctioning device. That’s because the camera could start writing over, corrup...

MQT #3389 and #3391 reportedly will be retired and sold in the near future.
I hope GLLX buys back the 3389 and puts it back in those Pere Marquette-inspired colors. With all of the new business on the WMI, perhaps a bigger horse wouldn't be a bad bet

Re: Utah Traffic Amounts

The Wasatch is now around 20-30 per day, sometimes less, depending on bulk traffic. It splits roughly 50/50 between the WP/LA&SL via SLC and the other half via the SP over the lake. Weber (Ogden to Echo) and Echo (Echo to Wasatch) Canyons are great and it's easy to follow along on the Old US30 align...

Re: Lake State Railway

The Liberty bridge is charging tolls now. No toll booths. It's 5.50 per car - bills are mailed out later. $5.50 to cross the Saginaw River? Yikes. Mackinac Bridge is still just $4.00! Meanwhile, the Chicago Skyway is a whopping $7.20 now for a car - to cross what is essentially just the Calumet Riv...

Re: Ludington Subdivision

There was one important item that GRS did NOT supply as part of the "west end" operation. It was a single rubber part from a bike pedal firmly attached with electrical tape to a cut-off fishing pole, and notched to perfectly fit the signal and switch levers. With this device, one could reach over a...

Thank you for posting. I enjoy this kind of information. I second this, it will be interesting to keep track of at time goes on. I don’t think everybody appreciates just how much grain moves out of Michigan, especially considering the large chunk of our crops that are consumed locally as animal fee...

A daily local run from Gladstone as far east as Kinross switching the local customers. Is there a local CN job that switches the kincheloe spur, or does the road train do it when it passes by? The local runs both directions from Gladstone to the Sault and return, on the opposite schedule to the roa...

Re: New Buffalo MI Railfanning Action

I'm doing a trip to New Buffalo MI within the next few weeks, how much action does CSX and the Amtrak Michigan Line (NS Locals) get? I know not all of the CSX trains on the GR Sub run that far south, but I'm just trying to get an idea of what I can expect. If someone could help me out that would be...
