Re: Algoma Central Railroad.
There is some bridge traffic on the Algoma Central, especially north of Oba. For instance copper ore from the Humboldt Mill on the Mineral Range RR near Ishpeming is moved to the Horne Smelter in Rouyn-Noranda, Quebec on the Ontario Northland in the white capped MWCX gondolas via Hearst.

Re: E&LS RR yard, Green Bay, WI
The EL&S (nee-MILW) used to have the Oakland Ave yard, its north end is at 5th St and 11th Ave. It was abandoned in the late 90's, about the same time that WC absorbed the GBW, FVW, and that section of the UP (nee-CNW)

the AN Railway, a subsidiary of Genesee and Wyoming Last I checked the AN served a Georgia Pacific OSB mill a few miles north of Hosford, and that's about it. The paper mill closed in 1999, and the Arizona chemical company closed in 2009. That was the end of service to Port St.Joe, it looked like s...

Yeah, I've only seen the ingot train a few times- 15 years ago it was parked empty on the east side of Osbourne yard in Louisville off Don Hutson Blvd. While on the topic of Corman in Louisville, I have watched the RJ Corman sand train leave the Nugent Sand docks on River road 2 years ago in the ear...

Re: L&N in Kentucky
Thanks, I had to use GiggleMaps to supplement the notion. I think Novelis is new, I want to remember the pop can condenser in Berea as Reynolds (like the wrap).
AARR how old is your info on the twice per week cycling? I'm not doubting it, but the economy is up lately especially for metals.

Re: L&N in Kentucky
From memory: The aluminum ingots move from Novelis in Berea,Ky to Logan near Lewisburg,Ky. Loads go west, empties go east as required, always with Corman units. Novelis is switched by Corman, and the unit trains run on CSX trackage rights from Berea to Lexington, on Corman to Ancorage Jct in Louisvi...

Re: Abandoned line Hoopeston, IL
It's the Lake Erie and Western line from Sandusky,Oh to Peoria,Il. Further west, from Gibson City through Bloomington to Peoria is still NS. East of Lafayette, it is now the NS line though Frankfort, Muncie, Portland,IN. One source suggests the segment between Gibson City and Cheneyville was abandon...

Re: UP ZTUG4 Question?
Does the ZTUG4 run any more? Is it now a ZSIG4?
The ZTUG4 was double stacks, not boxcars. Used to carry a block of Pacerstacks of autoparts from Ford in Hermasillo, and also a block from "Phoenix", a paper ramp.

The old Evans railcar shop across the river from Burr Oak?
CN's Taschereau Yard in Montreal is also worth a gander.

Did the Q649 & Q650 between Clearing and Terre Haute (I believe to the INRD), that were established in August already get the ax? How is the INRD traffic moving on CSX?

Is the Vermillion connection work timed to coincide with the bridge work on the Portageville trestle in western New York State (finally beefing up the D&H to 286k standards)?

For Minnesota Commercial, Raymond Ave goes over the west end of their yard and the BNSF intermodal yard, south of Energy Park Dr. Just north east of Energy Park Dr, Raymond goes over the BNSF mains.

In the thread "INRD/ISRR diamond in Switz City", it was asked: Does anyone know the approximate times and days of the Newton Turn, CN and INRD's joint service to Indy? Since CN and INRD have been running double stacks to Indianapolis, I believe the interchange at Newton has become more regular. On t...

Most of the INRD's traffic is between Terre Haute thru Jasonville to Dugger, and much of it is coal.

LIRC has been getting some overhead traffic via the INRD. Yes I meant the INRD... CSX Haulage for INRD CHI to Terre Haute INRD runs from Terre Haute to CSX in Indy via Jasonville. CSX yards the cars at Avon from the INRD to the LIRC. LIRC haulage for the INRD from IND to LOU. LIRC interchanges to t...

Re: INRD/ISRR diamond in Switz City
This past summer INRD and ISRR entered an agreement where the INRD will haul the pittance of ISRR's traffic to Indu from Switz City and the ISRR will haul the INRD's traffic to NS via Oakland City (it had been going via LIRC). The ISRR north of Switz City is essentially dead. (there's now an isolate...

LIRC also interchanges traffic for the Port of Jeffersonville with MG Rail in Watson, to the northeast of Jeff Yard. I believe there are a number steel companies within the Port. The coils cars i see have CSS reporting marks, with loads moving south. I believe the coils are coming from Burns Harbor....
