Re: INE acquires pair of SD40-2's.

Hey guys for the record...neither of these units currently have any PTC technology installed. Also, as these will certainly help with hauling heavier grain trains, all of the foreign power we have ever had from the NS was dedicated with that train.

CP Mode signals were upgraded a couple years back, CP Montpelier is getting new signals, plus there are a bunch of "New" installations going in along the line as well.

Re: INER to haul 24 miles of 36 inch Natural Gas Pipeline

SDI ordered a small amount of Anthricite Coal - about a dozen car loads or so - instead of having a dozen cars sitting around their property for MONTHS paying demarrage per car daily, they decided to have the product off-loaded and stored in a dry area where it can be hauled from a reasonably short ...

Re: INER in 2013

No Track warrants just yard limits. I'm not sure that age of the locos would have anything to do with the speed but they are old. The oldest being the 1601 built 1952 and the newest the 2230 built in 1963 not including the rebuilt ones. More like how many trains run a week and not per day. There's u...

No Track Warrants here. We operate on AAR Channels 66 and 86 then 18 while on NS property. NS powered grain trains are starting to show up.

Re: Indiana Northeastern Question

The Little River Railroad operates the steam train in Coldwater and now is a great time to take a ride with them as the leaves are changing colors quickly. As for operations, it's best to call the office - there is usually a train out there somewhere.

Re: What's goin on in Durand?

My 2 Cents - Durand is a cool beautiful place with easy access and a lot of perks. I think everyone can agree on that. But for me, it's all about frequency. I'm not going to drive 2 hours somewhere to spend all day to see as many trains as I can count on my hands when I can drive 20 minutes to that ...

Re: Derailment in downtown Wauseon, OH

Can anybody think of any particular reason that there have been so many derailments concentrated in this area? Would the roadmaster be someone to go after? Did NS cut maintainence back on this section? It seems like more than coincidence to me. It is my understanding that the other derailments were...

Re: Whats up on the Indiana Northeastern???

The 1073 has been back in service for a couple weeks now. Yes things are a bit busy with the grain rush. Yes weekends are part of the mix lately. The best thing to do is look up the number and call the office about train movements.

Re: INER 4/18 Grain Train

75 seems to be the standard. Had as low as 72 as high as 78. Sometimes with NS Power, 2 or 3 units, sometimes without any. Quite a variety of Power though when they do leave it for us.
