Considering the current climate of everything I need to get out and about. I’m interested in dropping by either of these towns but how is the rail traffic? Has it slowed, increased or stayed the same?? Just want to know before I I head down from Detroit. Thanks

I don't make it down there much anymore but I recently watched a loaded coal train run North through Wyandotte on the most easterly track. I think this train runs from Lang yard to the DTE plant on River Rouge. I thought these trains were discontinued?

I stopped into Deshler today and the friendly guys from Virtual Railfan were installing a 24 hour rail cam. Two cameras, one will focus directly on the dimond and the second will provide a panoramic of the park. Great group of guys providing a great opportunity for the railfan community.

I recently found a video on YouTube of a Amtrack cab view from Toledo to the Detroit Michigan Central Station. It was filmed in 1985 and runs up the Detroit line. Very interesting video! My question is, when did Amtrack stop using the Detroit line for business and why?

I would like to take a trip to Fostoria this summer and I noticed they have a viewing platform. As im not familiar with the area how is the action around there? Where else in Fostoria should I visit?

I am referring to the River Rouge bridge at Dix rd.

I have noticed over the last summer water is sometimes being sprayed over the grates on the River Rouge bridge.. It looks like there are two hoses releasing water directly onto the road way. Any idea what the purpose for this is?
