Re: A million views
Wow! Congrats. It's a milestone to say the least as you never think of it when you first post. I reached the same mark on YouTube for a train video which is all of 17 seconds long never thinking it would get that much attention. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pV_HnZi-9c0 I just had my first one post...

Re: Fostoria live cam
chatter on the radio says there's something going on at the west end that has the train blocked and tying up the diamonds, nothing specific mentioned except it would be cleared in 15 minutes. I love this webcam!

Re: Fostoria live cam
I would hate to be a local as I would suspect that not too often the crossing is blocked by a train. In this case, an NS grain possibly waiting for a mt coal drag to come through. It's been there for at least 20 minutes. 4 PM now and gee, I hope there's nothing happening on the CSX line.

From a trip in 2002...Lovely town as I recall. Custer's hometown if I remember correctly. I can still see the statue in the square. For the life of me, I can't think why we were in Michigan unless for a Queensryche concert in Detroit. I do remember pulling off of the interstate hoping to find some r...

Just some I've been lucky to have roll past or chase and leave their impression on me. Bessemer and Lake Erie. Hopefuly CN won't change too much of a railroad I've known since young enough to crawl. At their yard in Greenville http://pic14.picturetrail.com/VOL534/831195/8697207/127621336.jpg CN...fi...

Remote Control Platforms
Quite common in some of the yards around here. I recently came across two remote control platforms on one train. Turns out one each from a different manufacturer. The CSX 9100 series are CANAC remote equipment and the 9400 series are CATRON. Notice the difference between the two bodies. The 9192 is ...

Thanks Aleks for the info. I found one site with roster shots of the G&E, http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/locoList.aspx?id=GEXR As for salt production, a lot of people don't realize how extensive the salt basin is under the Great Lakes. We have the Morton Salt company's northernmost operation here ...

What railroad in Canada?
Found this shot on another site. Port Goderich, Ontario off Lake Huron. The dockside action looks great with an old F unit in the mix.

Who brought the marshmallows!? Good aerials though despite the commentary. A series of shots of an engine after it pulled into CSX's Willard, Ohio yard. Fairport Harbor, which is east of Cleveland gets maybe 2 a week during the summer, mostly stone. It could be more. Salt piles from the Morton Mine are there but I see few ships load of that commodity, mostly truck. http://pic14.picturetrail.com/VOL534/831195/8697207/126385654.jpg Again you have it s...

I see from your photos of 1/16 there's a good bit of ice in the harbor. I'm curious if a winter is mild enough to not freeze over the lake(s) would the lakers continue to run. I'm sure with layup any maintenance work put off during the shipping season would be attended to then. During last year's ba...
