Re: CSX Location Updates - Oct 2021

Are these people on and off at Bangor commuters to Chicago? Yes they are, Amtrak P371 originates in Grand Rapids & ends in Chicago. Then in the evening, P370 originates in Chicago & ends in Grand Rapids. The only stops in-between are St Joseph Mi, Holland Mi & Bangor Mi. Some evenings, we've seen a...

Re: Cal-Chlor, Ludington

So Cal-Chor is the bagging company / facility for Oxy? I never knew that. Hoppers loaded at Oxy, unloaded at Cal-Chlor, bagged and shipped out by truck and boxcar.
I learned something new:)

The photo that shows US Trackworks building the track looks like it has an unloading pit. I don't see how they can load on that track.

My Paper Railroad, Grand Rapids Southeastern (GRSE), is more interesting. :)
If your wife owns 51% of your RR, it can be a disadvantaged business enterprise :)

Re: CSX Location Updates - Oct 2021

I'm sure you are right Tom. Breton appears blocked still per Google maps, and Shaffer is the next crossing east. D705 makes sense. Should have stopped short of East Paris - wouldn't be blocking anything. But again this is a RR that has lost a car in Wyoming yard 10 days and counting. Doktor No wher...

When I retire, I will try to do a better job reporting on the GRE. When I retire I will do a poorer job reporting on the GRE. I currently check them 2 times a day M-F to and from work. Pretty routine, CSX delivers cuts of Kings, GRE takes them east when they can get a crew from either Muskegon or A...
