Re: Amtrak Blue Water, PM ridership down, Wolverine ridershi
I don't think advertising is going to matter much on the Blue Water. There's no lack of people who want to take the train, but they balk at the highest fares each way during the week, which is what happens to yield management when a car or two is taken off. The train has been short *several* cars du...

Re: Amtrak Blue Water ridership down
Shorter consist this year than last means higher fare buckets for passengers- the percentage of "YD and YB" fares go quicker on a shorter train.
Not to mention Megabus.
I'm surprised ridership isn't down more.

6557 received it as part of a wreck rebuilt around 1990. It was the only C30-7A to have a new (old) cab and nose.

Cool shot.
6557 was an oddball, with a nose and cab from an ex-EL U36C.

Re: Ann Arobr looking to build new Amtrak station
In 1986, you had INGT/JAEL, ELDW/DWEL, and the just-in-time IHCS/CSIH through Battle Creek. They all went via the Kalamazoo Branch/Secondary and Elkhart. I can't see Amtrak granting additional trackage rights on the Michigan Line. The per ton/mile charge would be exhorbitant, and the railroad would ...

NS will not be doing the work, it will be Amtrak. Now stuff will get fixed.
Hoping for a swift transition away from NS Operating Rules on the territory as well.

They signed an agreement of transfer; however, the actual transfer of ownership has not
yet taken place. Amtrak work gangs are not permitted to do their work as of this time,
since NS still holds ownership.

Okay, a few things here: The north side is getting a fence from Harrison Road to Taco Bell; it's not negotiable. The south side will appear to have limited access (think Flint, with a locked gate) from Harrison Road to the swamp. The contact information is Debbie Alexander at CATA dwalexander@cata.org

Re: Any body seen any GP60's?
My body saw a good dozen ATSF and BNSF GP60Ms in the LA Basin last week. One local had a pair of warbonnets and a Santa Fe caboose. And there are usually some at NS's Jackson Yard.

Re: Photos of PC boxcar in Jackson?
The car in reference is former PC 201465, a cereal loading ex-PRR X43C. It's painted gray, but the gray is washing off. I don't have any good pics of it.

Try looking at Trailer Train pics on rr.fallenflags.org. ICG's enclosed auto racks were indeed orange.

Amtrak owns from the CN/IC diamond at 21st St (old CP521), north to CUS. There are signs denoting same at the diamond. You were probably at CP518.
