Swanton Railfan Park

This has been something a few in the area have been wanting. Now it looks like it will be going forward. Plans are moving forward to move a depot back along trakeside, just west of the City Council building. There is also plans to build an elevated platform to watch trains. Nothing on when contructi...

Re: Railroadfan.com 2019 Meet - Durand Saturday May 25th

Tam and I will more than likely be making the trip up there from Toledo. Unless we have family things going on, but I will try to make sure we don't have something on the 25th.

Re: McCord road under pass- sylvania Ohio

I do agree that it is the right choice. The crossing is very busy, and is only going to get busier. It is a pain to negotiate right now. But, when it is done and over, it will be a greatly needed way to get from one side to the other. Hoping they do keep the new crossing in place, but doubt they wil...

Yea, try living around here and negotiating a simple trip to Walmart or Kroger. Now, they also have Angola Rd closed for 3 months at US23. Really sucks getting around the area.

CSX Heritage units? Sort of...

Friend recently posted a picture of a CSX locomotive in dark future paint. With a small SCL decal on the front of the cab. Has anyone seen or heard anything about this. Is it an weak attempt at a heritage fleet?

I know it's a little after the fact. Isn't that derailment the same spot the MAW 16 almost went on its side a few years ago?

It's pronounce Frank-fert.

But that other city is actually prononuced Lewllvull by those that live there.
Was wondering if someone would actually catch that.
