Re: Michigan Southern Defiance Operations: The Beginning

Here is the latest on power: NS 4148 at Lima to be interchanged to CSX (was supposed to be done over the weekend) to forward to Defiance. NS 4154 is to follow shortly. PREX 3054 currently at Avon (Indianapolis) to be expedited to Defiance. Was looking up the two NS units. Both are former NW. Found ...

Re: Michigan Southern Defiance Operations: The Beginning

NS power on the MAW, there is a prototype for everything now. Was it still NW locos when they went to NS way back? Don't know much about the line around that time. I have seen a few pictures with NW locos. That's all. Yes, but that is along what is called the Ft Wayne Moraine. Which is the extent o...

Re: Michigan Southern Defiance Operations: The Beginning

PREX is the leasing division of the company. The way they work things is that they "lease" their power to the many lines that the parent company own.

Re: Michigan Southern Defiance Operations: The Beginning

The Chicago line runs along the very southern edge of the Black Swamp. It doesn't run fully through it. Only occasionally will cross into the noted historical limits of the swamp. Wrong. I got confused for a moment. Ottawa threw me. I had a brain fart and was thinking of the NKP for some reason.

Re: Michigan Southern Defiance Operations: The Beginning

It was good to see a track crew looking professional. IIRC some pictures of the MAW track crew where posted a while back and they were dressed rather casually. What they would so is hire some temps for a week or so. Have one person that knew a little about what to do over see the work. That person ...

Getting the track level is one thing. Lets see if it stays that way. The bed (or lack there of) is a big question also.

Goodbye everyone

After some thinking about this for a little bit as not to make a decision to quickly. I have decided to delete my account. I have only been here for a few years now. I have enjoyed a a number of meets and countless informative discussions on here. However, I find myself really getting worked up as o...

A No.1 I gotta say, that Blues Brothers line is one of the classic lines of all movies.

B&O/C&O Locomotive Question

I am at a lost, and can't dig up this information. So, I am asking you all to help me with my brain freeze. I know of at least one locomotive that has a do not scrap plate on it. IIRC, is was the last locomotive bought by one of the two companies from EMD. First, I can't remember which loco it is. S...

Re: Maumee and Western Part 4

Very well could have been a glitch. But the trains on main line also were held up and not crossing while it was. Lit up for the MAW. I do know that the I&O in Hamler had been lit up as well. But not across the diamond. Oh well. Maybe someone else could add to it. Would surprise more of they moved on...

Seen activity on ATCS showing them working across the diamond today in Defiance a couple time in the afternoon. Maybe around 2:30 or so.

We are going to the circus tomorrow with my kids and grandkids. I should have thought about this before. But, anyone know if they have anything "special" pulling the train right now ?

Re: McCord road under pass- sylvania Ohio

This underpass will do little to none to prevent kids from being hit. The issue seems to be kids crossing at any location. Other than the actual crossing. If kids don't walk to the existing crossing. What makes anyone think they will walk to the underpass. The last accident involved kids that were r...

Re: Maumee and Western Part 4

I was actually pointing out that you were correct Brent. I was only confused with the installation of the OWL diamond is all. CSX was dragging their heals on the OWL installation, or their supplier was behind. Because it kept getting put off for a while.
