Re: Amtrak vs. Truck

I just heard about this too. Apparently there were no injuries, and 59 people were on board the train at the time of the collision. On a news video I saw the train was bound for Holland and is currently having difficulties with the lead locomotive. They also said that there is a freight train that h...

Kentucky Question

Hello everyone, me and my family are going to Kentucky this summer for a vacation. We are going to try to get some tickets for the Kentucky Railway Museum excursion train but other than that I am not very aware of good spots for train watching. Does anyone have more knowledge on this? If so, what ar...

Re: Shortline Train Location Updates - March 2021

Just heard the MSRR at 9:35 A.M. by the high school. Sounds like maybe the 2025 or 2019 is leading due to the horn. Going southbound, not sure of the consist.

Re: Shortline Train Location Updates - March 2021

Just heard the MSRR at 10:23 A.M. Not sure of the direction, but I am assuming he's going southbound to drop off empties and pick up loaded cars. I heard him near the High School. Not sure of the consist or what Locomotive is leading.

Michigan Shore RR Question

Hello everyone, I have recently been hearing the MSRR at about 9:30 to 10:30 PM at night (as I live about a mile and half from the tracks) and was wondering if anyone knew any other information about this as I know that they used to run only at night a few years ago. For the past 2 maybe 3 years It ...

Ok, thanks for letting me know. I just want to try to get some last shots of HESR 2025 before it leaves.

Re: MS Speed Restriction

Yeah, sadly speed restrictions are just a reality for the MS. I was looking through a pdf of an old CSX timetable from 2005 (when CSX still owned and operated the line) and at many of the the mileposts there is a max speed of 10 MPH. For me, it is pretty sad to see this line in such bad shape in som...

Re: G&W RR Power Assignments

That's sad that they are replacing HESR 2025. I love the horn on that unit. It seems like the MS is always getting a new unit every few years, but MMRR 2019 is still going strong. Also, does anyone know were MMRR 2057 ended up?
