Re: GLC 383
GLC 383 has been running regular since September 18th, mostly south of Owosso and only went north for the first time recently. This is the former MRL 705. It’s first trip was on an extra north to Ithaca IIRC. I shot it on ONTN, but if they ran an extra earlier in the day, then that very well could'...

Re: Great Lakes Central September 2020 Updates
382 & a GP38-2 are suspected to be on ONTN tonight. Per FB they were seen switching cars near the shops.

Re: Great Lakes Central September 2020 Updates
Supposed to be taking OSTN back to Owosso, then another crew (I would assume) will be taking a grain train south with the power.

Re: September Shortlines Updates
It is quite odd, had a majority of fly ash gons with a few tanks and 2bays. I bet Q327 will pick them up tomorrow. Perhaps they are considering going back to a nocturnal schedule. This way, these cars will be on Q327 tomorrow. If they come down Monday, they won't go until Tuesday's Q327. Typically,...

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
This doesn't have to do with the HESR 3868, but rather the Michigan Shore. The MMRR 2170 should be on the move for Muskegon in the next week or two. I would guess once the 2170 is on property, the HESR 2025 will leave.

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
HESR 3868 has been replaced in Alma with 3037 (CM) effective 8-31-20 Not replaced. HESR 3868 had to go in for it's 92 day, so the 3037 is filling in. It's expected the 3868 comes back for the remainder of time until the 2169 gets painted and sent up here. Motor swap in Genesee Yard with the HESR 80...

Re: The Future?
Per a post on facebook, the three grain elevators on the MMRR have stopped shipping and have gone to trucks because the G&W increased the pricing. So i see a GLC and Lake State operation very soon. That post is very incorrect. I can confirm that the two elevators hasn't just stopped shipping. The c...

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
Was confirmed yesterday by Bay City mechanical guys that the HESR 3868 is still leaving in due time. New rumor for a replacement on the St. Louis Sub is a G&W painted MMRR 2169, but that part is uncertain at this time.
Currently the MMRR has the HESR 3867.

Re: Huron & Eastern 3868
I actually unexpectedly saw HESR 3868 today, headed west solo, crossing M-52, just south of M-46. Terrible picture, but I barely had time to turn around and park when I saw the headlight approaching from the east as I was traveling south. This would be the MMRR, a couple miles west of Paines. There...

Re: Crazy Topic - G&W in Michigan
A few notes about the customer list for MMRR, Alma Div. - Crop Production Services receives fertilizer, not ships outbound fertilizer. Also, they changed their name to Nutrien Ag Solutions. - MAC has two elevators in Breckenridge. The downtown elevator which ships in carload lots and the one on the...

Re: Crazy Topic - G&W in Michigan
How many customers are in the MMRR? Approx 8; see this list: http://railroadfan.com/wiki/index.php/Mid_Michigan_MMRR,_MS,_GRE#Mid_Michigan_Customers_.28Alma_.28MMRR.29_Division.29 I helped out making that, and is correct up to today besides possibly a name change for a customer in St. Louis. There'...

Re: Crazy Topic - G&W in Michigan
One of the line I could see them getting rid of would be the MMRR. Would the Great Lakes Central make an effort to purchase this line from Paines to Alma. They already operate through Alma anyway, and interchange (at least occasionally) with the MMRR. Would this be something the GLC could see as be...

Re: Great Lakes Central Updates March 2020
ONTN swapped power in Clare with CSTN. CSTN has 397 leading the 329 north and ONTN has 382 leading the 393 back south.
13:14 crews are putting trains together in Clare.
13:22 CSTN is leaving town northbound and ONTN is switching the Plastic Company.
