31 miles in 2.45 hours. Tinkered with the gears but can’t get the 10th gear to stick. And of that’s the one I spend most of my cruising time. Back to the shop it will be going.

I made an adjustment myself and it was better but not perfect so back to the shop it goes. Should be a minor fix.

back gear is slipping on the bike you just picked up? that ain’t good. I need a new cassette and chain, rear gears 5, 6, and 7 have the chain slip when under too much power.

25-26 miles in 2 hours. Back gear is slipping. Ugh.

Rode home from supper at C & R cafe in downtown Lake O. 8.5 miles 15.8 mph. Was hoping for at least 15 since it was on a full stomach and wearing jeans and a sweatshirt instead of my usual riding gear. Almost made 16.0 but the first two miles through town were tough and hurt the AVG too much.

274k on my ’05, still gets 20mpg in the city, about 28 highway. Pretty close to starting specs when I got it in '08.
@ ~Z~ « Fri 9:52:09 pm »
the new bike - after seeing it, I can definitely agree that I wouldn't think gravel is a good choice for it. How wide are those tires, less than 1.5" right? Think my rear rotor is a bit warped. Each time it spins, it gets a little slower at the same point in its rotation.
@ AARR « Fri 7:57:24 pm »
Lugging around a 55 gallon drum of Diet Pepsi is exhausting :)

I wish. A trip around costco now does me in for the day and next.
@ Jetlink « Fri 5:58:23 pm »
Arms and shoulders didn’t like the gravel segments. Ultimately I think the front suspension is a necessity.
@ Jetlink « Fri 5:57:14 pm »
new bike. Supposed to be good on the gravel. While the tires handled the gravel well and didn’t really slow me down on the pavement the bike really doesn’t feel very comfortable on the gravel. So probably will ride mostly pavement and crushed stone with the occasional gravel mile or two thrown in when desired for the route.
@ Jetlink « Fri 5:55:19 pm »
About 12 miles. One phase. 7 gravel 5 paved. About 14.5 mph avg.
