Royal Canadian Pacific2448 viewsThe sixth car on CP 046 is another heavyweight open-end observation car, but it's so highly buffed that I can't read the car name! A total of seven of the nine passenger cars were open end observations, and all cars are from CP Rail's Executive/Royal Canadian Fleet. They are shown eastbound on the NS Chicago Line at Dunlap, Indiana, near Elkhart. Novebmer 22nd, 2006.GP30M4216

They are shown highballing through Dunlap, IN. NR Crump features four twin rooms and two single rooms within. November 22nd, 2006.GP30M4216

Calumet Tower988 viewsIHB's Calumet Tower stands guard over the busy diamonds in East Chicago, IN on April 22, 2003. This is the junction of the IHB mainline south of Michigan Ave. Yard (foreground), the EJ&E Whiting Branch (to the right of the tower, roughly parallel to the IHB) and the B&OCT mainline (crossing laterally behind the tower). This is one of the busiest interlockers still in service around the Chicago Area. Just south of here is IHB's Grasselli Tower, and north of here is the EJ&Es bridge Tower 63. GP30M4216

Royal Canadian Pacific766 viewsOne of the few cars on the Royal Canadian Pacific Executive Special that was not an observation, this car is so highly polished I can't read the car name on the side. This is train CP 046 traveling eastbound on the old NYC Water Level Route through Dunlap, Indiana, near Elkhart. Company executives are on board traveling from Chicago to Toronto over their trackage rights on NS. CP Rail runs about a dozen of their run through freight trains on this line daily.
