Grand Trunk GP9 #4428270 viewsClassic second generation diesel power sits at the Saginaw, MI Lake State yard. This red and blue GP9 was owned by the Saginaw Valley Railway Museum, and was recently sold - it is unclear what it is doing in Saginaw Yard. Regardless, it's GREAT to see a classic high hood and the familiar slanted Alco numberboards side-by-side in the 21st Century. Louisville and Nashville "Royal Street"270 viewsStainless steel Louisville & Nashville observation "Royal Street" makes a classy end note to the westbound Capitol Limited, making a station stop at the station at Elkhart, IND. Although #29 is a Superliner train, three private single level cars were along the end of the train, coming from Washington DC to Chicago, and then from Chicago to Omaha. Royal Street is shown under the New York Central signal bridge right next to the depot, and is reminiscent of of the 20th Century Ltd. observation cars. 5/4/2007GP30M4216

These are located on the former Toledo Terminal "back side," a line which today only goes a few miles to some local industries. The line is switches weekdays by a local job based at Toledo. This is one of the few operating (non locked) semaphore installations remaining in Ohio. Hallett has many types of signals, including PRR position types, searchlights, and modern "hood" types, too. They are traveling as CP 046, between Chicago and Toronto, over their NS trackage rights through Indiana, Ohio, and Michigan.
