GTW GP9 #4520High hood GP9 #4520 is believed to be the last active unrebuilt unit of this type on the roster of the blue and red. The date of this photo is March 7, 1999 at Schaefer Tower in Dearborn, MI on the Rouge Branch. Note the "torpedo tube" tanks remaining on the roof. Documents show the unit was stricken from the CN roster on March 20, 1999. 4520 continues to exist at a museum in western Canada, where it was donated by CN.GP30M4216

Conrail (CSX) CW40-8 #7302Not the best lighting for a northbound, but the Conrail Blue still stands out as CW40-8 #7302 single-handedly leads a northbound empty grain train up the Saginaw Subdivision passing North Yard in Plymouth. This view shows the diamond area from a southward perspective, an area now inaccessible to the public. The mast signal to the left of the locomotive was in the Chessie era and before a C&O-designed cantilever signal, similar to those in Novi and Wixom. May 16, 2006.GP30M4216

Amtrak F40PH #200My only photo of Amtrak's F40PH class-leader is this nice view departing the station at Dearborn, MI. This is morning westbound train No. 351 heading toward Chicago. The five-car train is being led by F40PH #316. I was aboard this train bound for Chicago for a fun overnight with my cub scout pack in the Field Museum. Thanks Mom for the picture!
