Calumet Tower

IHB's Calumet Tower stands guard over the busy diamonds in East Chicago, IN on April 22, 2003. This is the junction of the IHB mainline south of Michigan Ave. Yard (foreground), the EJ&E Whiting Branch (to the right of the tower, roughly parallel to the IHB) and the B&OCT mainline (crossing laterally behind the tower). This is one of the busiest interlockers still in service around the Chicago Area. Just south of here is IHB's Grasselli Tower, and north of here is the EJ&Es bridge Tower 63.
