Thats what I meant, the remaining units. But where did the SD45's go?
SD80MAC   [Jul 08, 2012 at 03:27 PM]
Most were scrapped, a few were sold to leasors and shortlines, 2 got preserved in museums.
GTWChris   [Jul 09, 2012 at 10:41 AM]
WC GP38-2s and WC SW1500s are still around and most are still in WC paint.
GLC 392   [Jul 09, 2012 at 11:46 AM]
Current engines on the CN are 2 GP40-2's 3026 and 3027 in special paint and were the only 2 GP40-2's ever on the roster a group of CN and WC painted SW1500's 6 or so GP38-2's in WC paint a large group of GP40's with only a couple in active service the rest are stored with their leases up, some have been sold already. As Jon said most of the SD45's were cut up a few still linger on shortlines but have been repainted and a couple are at NREX in Silvis and 1 at Dixmoor, WC 2500 the only SD35 is also at Silvis. 2 F45's are at LTEX the rest were chopped. The WC 7525 is at IRM another is at the LSRM in Duluth but getting repainted into NP paint. There is 1 SW1 #1 at a camp ground or something like that in Wisconsin. WC 6001 the only SD40 was cut up after CN bought the WC 2 of the SD40-2's were cut up last year in Homewood, 2 are on the WE and 1 is on a shortline in Wisconsin. There are still a small amount of the GP30's lingering around 1 is on lease and a couple in muse

*museums and the 6900 SD40-3's have all been sold with a very few stored at Clearing yard, a large amount went to G&W.

Just checked tonight... looks as if the WC 3026 is in Alberta! A long ways from home I suppose.
GLC 392   [Jul 10, 2012 at 09:47 AM]
Yes sir both the 26 and 27 were set up for extended range dynamic braking back in 2010 when I was there and sent to CA shortly after. The GP38-2's are also assigned to the old BCOL with one getting free every now and then.
DT&I   [Jul 10, 2012 at 01:10 PM]
why couldnt they just leave the BCOL units on the BCOL instead of send WC geeps out there?
GTWChris   [Jul 10, 2012 at 02:28 PM]
The only active power left from the BCOL is road power. I believe BCOL had some ALCOs which I assume the GP38-2s replaced.
SD80MAC   [Jul 10, 2012 at 05:42 PM]
BCOL also had a few B39-8's that have been stored for a few years now. Geeps and other CN power went west to replace the Alco's and SD40-2's (the the 4 axle Dash 8's) on the BC Rail.
GLC 392   [Jul 10, 2012 at 08:19 PM]
Most of the alcos and 40-2's were scrapped and 90% of them ended up in Homewood before that some did make it to lease fleets.
MQT3001   [Jul 10, 2012 at 09:14 PM]
Shoulda made this into a thread! How many units are left in WC paint?
GLC 392   [Jul 11, 2012 at 12:31 AM]
Not enough
DT&I   [Jul 11, 2012 at 01:50 PM]
are there more IC units left than WC?
GTWChris   [Jul 11, 2012 at 02:47 PM]
Yes, there are around 60 units on CN in IC paint.
